Therapy for Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC)
Let’s discover ways to manage the unique challenges life brings to you. Being a BIPOC comes with challenges that can feel dark, heavy, or even impossible to deal with. Many BIPOC who start Therapy feel the world keeps them from being their authentic selves.
Therapy for Highly Sensitive People (HSP)
Stop feeling ashamed of your sensitivity and start being proud of who you are. Life can feel tough to deal with when too much is happening. Many HSP who start Therapy feel overwhelmed in a life they don’t love.
Therapy for Trauma
Find meaning and joy in life again. Life comes with a lot of constant worries and concerns. Many people who start Therapy for Trauma feel stuck repeating the same painful patterns. Perhaps you can relate.
Therapy for Anxiety
Take back your power over Anxiety. Anxiety can feel like a never-ending cycle. Many folks who start Therapy for Anxiety feel like their lives are out of control and it’s impossible to catch their breath or find relief. Maybe you do, too.
Therapy for Military and Veterans
Service members, veterans, and dependents can discover ways to manage whatever life throws at them. Being a part of the military creates changes and challenges most will never understand. Many military people who start Therapy feel lost in life on some level, unsure of how to find their way.

Why “Black Opal Counseling”?
I chose the name “Black Opal” very intentionally. Black opals are incredibly rare and valuable gemstones. Though they appear similar on the surface, they are filled with diverse, bright, and beautiful colors, each brought out with different light and perspective. They are unique and precious. Black Opals symbolize life change and a positive future. They represent healing, power, and balance. Most strikingly, they are used to bring out the innate skills and capabilities in each individual.
At Black Opal, this is how I view you and your care. You are both precious and powerful, and your unique life experiences and perspectives are what shape who you are. To honor this, your care is tailored just to your specific needs. Authenticity, balance, and empathy in therapy can help you better understand yourself and change how you move through the world. Recognizing your power and innate capabilities helps you accept your full self and your full range of colors. Most importantly I believe, like the Black Opal, you have everything you need inside of you to live the life you desire and deserve. I’m just here to help you gain perspective and bring it to light.
Addressing racism is a mental health issue.
At Black Opal Counseling, my goal is to provide evidence-based, culturally-informed, and person-centered mental health care for each individual.
